ABOUT Calm coaching
Calm Coaching was born from a deep desire to empower others to break down barriers and live beyond their limitations. As a certified holistic health practitioner dedicated to empowering individuals to create a life of balance and vitality, my personalised approach and evidence-based practices support your journey to optimal well-being.
I have always had a keen interest in the human body and physical activity, however a debilitating journey with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome gave me a deep understanding that true wellness is achieved through a harmonious integration of physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
I found solace in the gentle embrace of the South Coast and it was here, in the simplicity of nature, that I healed from chronic fatigue and discovered my true calling.
Now, I empower others to overcome their limitations and create a life that truly nourishes. With a heart full of compassion and a deep understanding of the human spirit, I invite you to embark on a transformative journey.
Using experince as well as formal training, I offer a range of services designed to support your unique path to optimal well-being.
My client-centered approach ensures that your individual needs are always at the forefront of our work together. I hold a Bachelor of Health Science and Diploma of Holistic Wellness Coaching.
I am a professional member of International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT).
SPECIALISING IN
Living with an ongoing illness or chronic condition can be incredibly debilitating far beyond the physical. Through simple, non-strenuous coaching sessions I endeavour to help you reclaim your sense of self that may have been lost through years of enduring a long-term illness. Whilst offering support for symptom management, I am also passionate about empowering individuals to reclaim their power and no longer live as a victim to the illness.
While grief is usually something related to death of a loved one, grief and loss show up in many parts of our lives. When things don’t go as planned or expected we can experience a profound sense of loss. The end of a relationship, or community, even after childbirth and the new season of motherhood can feel isolating and lonely for many and there is loss in the life that you once lived. When experiencing grief, our identity may feel robbed and we can lose our sense of purpose. I listen with empathy to each situation that has caused feelings of loss and take small steps towards holding space for grief and learning how to flourish in new ways. Walking through grief can be a journey of self-discovery and creating a new version of oneself.
Personal beliefs and values are fundamental aspects of identity. When we are not living in alignment with our beliefs we may experience an unstable sense of self, leading to insecurity, self-doubt and feelings of unworthiness. Emotional trauma throughout our lives can alter our sense of worth and purpose. Using gentle, purposeful and directive questions, I help clients to gain an understanding of their patterns of belief, and to explore areas of low self-worth. I then work alongside my client to empower and support them as they create a new foundation of identity and self-worth within their lives.
Creating and maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle can at times feel unachievable as we strive to find balance in our careers, homes, and communities.
Although there are fundamental elements to creating nutritious and balanced meals, I believe there is room for creativity and joy surrounding meals and dietary guidelines.
I guide clients towards simplicity as they walk toward their health, weight, fitness and lifestyle goals.
“I sought the coaching help of Calm Coaching at a point in my life where I was at a bit of a crossroads and had a few pathways I was considering taking but did not have any clarity around any one decision. I had a few sessions with Melody which were so valuable each time as it became clearer and clearer where I needed to be heading. Melody asks the best questions and I can tell that she genuinely cares about helping others. I walked away with the clarity I was seeking, knowing that the path I chose was weighted with the right reasons based on what I needed at the time. Thanks so much Melody for all of your valuable help, you are amazing at what you do.”

“I sought Melody’s support during a period of chronic illness in my life. I was met with warmth, honesty, compassion and a non-judgmental space. Melody has a natural ability to guide, really listen, and ask thoughtful questions that allow you to reach your own answers and help you to see things in a different and more empowering way.”

“I was introduced to Melody through a friend.
I had lost perspective on who I was. I am a mother of 2 teenagers, I have a busy professional career which I thought I enjoyed but I was too busy to really know anymore. It was in my busyness, that I found myself feeling exhausted all the time and I lacked self love. I had stopped doing many of the simple things that bring me joy.
I was stuck.
Through what felt like just a few easy conversations, Melody helped me find my way back to me. To self love. I still have my challenges, but I no longer let them stop me doing all that I enjoy. I am able to maintain perspective, set boundaries with others and myself and I am more at peace with myself generally and my life journey.
I am very grateful to have Melody walk beside me on my journey back to self love.”

Part of my coaching approach uses principles surrounding neural plasticity and our brains ability to change and rewire neural pathways as well as Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), the interaction between psychological processes and the nervous and immune systems.
Psychoneuroimmunology is the term used to describe the interactions between the emotional state, nervous system function, and the immune system. Investigations into these interactions have documented that the mind and attitude play a significant role in the functioning of the immune system.
Through formal study combined with my own experience I work to equip and empower clients to create the life they truly desire to live.
